This Vacheron Constantin Historiques American 1921 Watch has just one the Watch of the Year award from Swiss Watch magazine, Montres Passion. We think that it is a very nice watch, but that they could have possibly found something a bit better, but in the end it’s their decision.

Each watch is done in a different shade of gold with a slightly different image of the Chinese style dragon and only nine of each will be made. There is a lot of delicate work involved in these watches with guilloche machine engraving and hand-applied decoration. It has been 17 years since Vacheron Constantin has released a pocket watch and their new Patrimony Contemporaine proves that it was well worth the wait. The watch makes up a part of the Excellence Platine Collection where all pieces are made in platinum. The Patrimony Contemporaine has a 43mm wide case and the case, dial and hands are all in platinum. In addition, the manually wound caliber 4400 movement is brand new. The Vacheron Constantin Malte Automatic Chronograph features an 18kt white or rose gold case that measures 40mm in a barrel-shape, composed of three parts. It’s a classy dress watch for any fancy-schmancy occasion. The crystal is an AR-coated convex sapphire and the back is solid. It’s water resistant to 30m. Movement is the automatic Vacheron caliber 1137, with 37 jewels, beating at 21,600 bph and with a 40 hour power reserve. The white gold one is a little more conservative than the rose gold one, but the rose gold is really eye-catching.
