This new Piaget Altiplano Automatic Ultra-Thin Watch is an excellent example of a small and sleek watch that doesn’t lack anything in function. In fact, this is the world’s thinnest automatic mechanical movement at just 2.35mm thick. Don’t worry though, it is still guaranteed to be sturdy.
Here is Piaget’s entry for the Only Watch 2009 competition, this is the Piaget Emperador Coussin Moon Phase Watch. Of course, true to it’s name, the watch features a lunar theme, with a beautiful blue face inside of an 18k rose gold case.
Piaget, the Swiss watchmaker has just conjured up the new Limelight Twice Watch. Not a single detail has been spared in this sophisticated and intricately designed watch. The watch features an asymmetric drawing and a double nature that shows two different identities. Expect to pay around $58,000 for this baby.
Precision and reliability are just some of the attributes that a watchmaker’s masterpiece gains. A watch’s accuracy depends on a regulator, a master clock where the watchmaker adjusts his creation according to the nearest minute. This Piaget Emperador Coussin Regulator is an example of that master clock. The minute hand is more prominent here and can be found on the main dial. The hour hand is on another dial, over the 6 o’clock position and a lot smaller. This watch has another fun complication with the retrograde second hand that starts from zero up to 30 seconds and back. Movement is developed by Manufacture de Haute Horlogie Piaget, Caliber 835P which has large balance with screws and a large barrel giving a 65 hour power reserve. A beautiful rose or white gold case, 42.5 mm across encloses a midnight blue or charcoal gray dial. ~$3,800.
