Romain Jerome is an avant garde watchmaker always seeing how far they can take watch design while maintaining its artistic integrity and still making buyers want to actually wear the watch. The Titanic DNA Checa, designed by French artist Andre Checa, is meant to look like a beaten piece of metal lying in the depths of the ocean or a sunken treasure just waiting to be discovered and even though it looks artsy, one has to wonder if someone would wear it. The faux weather-beaten watch is a large 72mm wide and 21mm thick. 280 grams of bronze are used on the case and the rusty looking metal cross on the dial is made from blended steel. The watch does have a bit of Salvador Dali flair to it, so perhaps a wealthy watch enthusiast/art lover will buy this unique timepiece. $TBA.
