Reconvilier Hercules has a new watch out that could change the game of golf. A GPS application has been combined with the mechanical movement in order for the golfer to measure the distance to the green, the front edge or the center. Using a Rotar mechanism, the original function is displayed on one side in meters or yards and on the other side is the classic analogue reading of the time, or you can switch to digital. The ‘caddie’ attaches to your golf bag to get data about the course you’re on so while playing the distance information is automatically sent to the watch. $TBA.

De Grisogono released the Instrumento Grande in 2005 but now for 2010 they’ve introduced the chronograph version. The rather surreal looking watch face has an engine-turned concentric wave pattern with over-sized hour markers and Dali-like numerals. The retrograde date calendar is laid out in twin arcs and the date is outlined by tinted sapphire lenses. The 18k rose gold case has a Swiss ETA caliber 7750 movement with 42-hour power reserve and it’s water resistant up to 50 meters. $TBA.
