With an elegant dial and handsome mesh strap this new watch by Skagen is a good modern-looking timepiece that is lightweight and affordable. It has a brushed metal body and carbon fiber face, the case is 41mm wide and made of titanium and there’s a seconds subdial at 6 o’clock. $145.
The Tissot PRS 516 was originally released in the 1960s, and now it’s back again. The watch has a 45mm wide case rendered in 316L stainless steel and has an ETA Valjoux 7750 automatic chronograph movement. Other features include hour, minute and seconds funtions, water resistance up to 100 meters, a choice between a black or silver dial as well as a choice between a leather strap or 316L stainless steel bracelet. $TBA.
The past two years have been rocky for Ventura; they filed for bankruptcy in late 2008 and designer Hannes Wettstein passed away before his v-tec Kappa watch was released. But things have changed and Ventura founder, Pierre Nobs, has the company back on its feet and they are relaunching the v-tec Kappa this coming summer. The ‘Titanox’ style watch features a VEN_04 Swiss movement and Ventura’s unique easyscroll system and will be sold with a bracelet or rubber strap.

In the past Seiko has offered watches with concealed photovoltaic (PV) cells be stacking colored resin plates, so having a solar powered watch is no new news. But this time around, the Hybrid Solar Watch is a bit different because Seiko has used transparent plates so that the PV cells are visible to the human eye. Apparently the watch company is trying to attract the attention of the younger generation who is more ecologically and environmentally aware. Seiko will release types of these watches and it will be a nice edition to the solar powered watch market. Prices will vary. $215 – $283.
Invicta is a Florida-based watch company founded by the Swiss in 1837. The Men’s Corduba Chronograph is made of gunmetal steel and black rubber and boasts a masculine and bold design. It has luminous hands, Arabic numerals, date window at 3 o’clock, 200 meter water resistance and two subdials creating a cool figure-8 design. A good watch for divers or those who like extreme water sports. $250.
Ulysse Nardin Circus Minute Repeater Mens Wristwatch is a magical little timepiece that is charming and unique. The dial depicts a circus scene complete with clowns, bears and jugglers. The circus figures are made from 18 carat white gold and the 42mm wide case is made from 18 carat rose gold. Other features include a sapphire crystal, water resistance up to 30 meters, black onyx dial and leather strap. $262,500.

With descending moon and stars to show the moon phases it’s an entertaining timepiece that will have people mesmerized. The lucid moon sits on the sleek black Grand Feu dial which is complimented by eight bright stars and the 43mm red-gold case.
