Greubel Forsey Invention Piece 3
When you’ve practically seen every watch design imaginable, you can only go so far into developing a new watch. Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey’s third watchmaking foray takes a radical new sense and a layout that’s rarely seen, if at all. Instead of the usual 12-hour dial, it tells time for the whole 24 hours of the day. Running on the same axis as the hour dial is the minute display while the small seconds subdial is on the 6 o’clock. A power reserve indicator takes its spot on the 2:30 but the real showcase for the Invention Piece No. 3 is the slanted tourbillon, with a 25 degree incline which rotates every 24 seconds. Being real inventors, the Greubel Forsey duo developed the hand-wound GF 01n movement all wrapped up in a 43mm gold case. The power of three’s demand a 33-unit limit for this exceptional invention. $TBA.
