Audemars Piguet Tour Optic 2009

For the fourth year now, Audemars Piguet has teamed up with what many consider as the rolling museum of cars, the Tour Optic Rally. Held in the north of France, it features over 200 classic cars and run off the beaten path, through the more scenic routes. The Tour Optic 2009 Watch is similar to the Royal Oak Offshore watches of before but this one has a new movement and features new materials. The titanium case is 42-mm wide which is shot-peened, giving the material added tensile strength and greater corrosion resistance. The red pushers and crown is made of rubber and the colors match the sub-dials in the watch. A checkered-flag inspired watchface enhance the overall racing theme. An in-house self-winding movement, a Caliber 2326/2840, powers the watch with a 38-hour reserve. You’d have to be loaded and fast in order to get this watch though, only 100 specimens will be made. $TBA.
